Giving at St. James

The Ministry of St James Church is entirely dependent on the giving of the church family. We therefore ask everyone who considers St James to be their spiritual home to make a regular contribution. The New Testament gives us three attitudes that accompany giving:

Sacrificial: Giving beyond what is comfortable.

Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” Mark 12:43-44

Generous: Generosity in the Bible is not measured by how much we give, but by how much we have left. See 2 Corinthians 8:1-5

Cheerful: Giving willingly and not under compulsion.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Cor 9:6-8

How to Give

For once-off payments, debit orders and SnapScan giving options, see the image above for our bank details.

Cash

Cash donations can be given at a Sunday service at the doors on departure into the collection bags or can be given to reception at the church office.

Birthday Thank Offering

Each year between October and December we open giving for our birthday thank offering. This is a once off annual gift, above and beyond regular giving. As we approach the end of the year, it is a way we can express our gratitude to God for his generosity to us in Christ for all we have received from him.

 Your Will

You can make St James Church a beneficiary in your Will.  You should talk to an attorney about this, but we can provide a sample wording for inclusion in your Will upon request.
